Reporting to the Senior Principal, Enterprise Architect, the Technical Analyst Intern will work cross functionally with the Enterprise Architecture & Practice and Governance teams to build experiences, deliver real solutions and support with improving Interac’s architecture practice.
You’ll be responsible for:
- Developing proof-of-concept solutions for the architecture practice, including automation and Confluence add-ons
- Conducting analysis of the existing architecture practice processes
- Building out reports for the Enterprise Architecture and Governance Team
- Preforming interviews with key individuals to understand opportunities to improve the architecture practice
- Working with the agile team to support the delivery of enhancements to Interac’s technology & platforms
- Supporting various solution initiatives with a dedicated agile team
You bring:
- Comfortable with learning and working effectively either independently or with groups across different functions and levels
- Confidence in your ability to communicate verbally and written in a detailed and impactful way – you have some experience with technical writing
- You are a proactive problem-solver with a demonstrated track record of driving continuous improvement initiative
- An aspiration to work in software development after graduation
- The natural ability to pick up new technology – you enjoy learning about new tools and how they work
- Understanding that success is in the details – you tend to notice things that others don’t
- You can code confidently and enjoy tackling challenging problems – you often utilize your creative thinking skills
- Although not required, you have some familiarity or previous experience with the following:
- A programming language like Java or Python
- Front end tooling (e.g. HTML, CSS, JavaScript)
- A single page application framework like Angular JS
- Working with databases (e.g. Oracle, Azure RDBMS, MongoDB)
- Software design patterns
- Understanding of Atlassian, Confluence & Jira
- Previous working or co-op experience working as a software developer, engineer or technical coordinator in a relevant field is an asset
- Currently enrolled in a Canadian university or college program in a relevant discipline, like computer science or information technology/systems, software/computer engineering or similar related field
