Reporting to the VP Product, the Scrum Master is responsible for implementing, promoting, and supporting Scrum by helping the organization, beginning with the Product and IT teams, adopt Scrum theory, practices, rules, and values and execute strategic projects following Scrum practices. This role assumes the incumbent is proficient at delivering a project end-to-end, on time, within budget, within quality standards and to the satisfaction of the project sponsor.

Major Accountabilities

  • Lead organizational-wide strategic projects end-to-end, while communicating project progress, dependencies, and risks to stakeholders.
  • Facilitate Scrum Ceremonies and foster an environment of continuous improvement; Lead daily stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Help the team adhere to the best practices of Agile/Scrum and continuously develop and follow operational standards.
  • Drive to mitigate execution risk to achieve the desired business outcomes.
  • Understand the business/group and facilitates communication with other project sponsors and stakeholders efficiently and effectively.
  • Direct, manage, and coordinate business and technology resources, user groups, internal and external consultants and contractors.

Job Requirements

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or similar certification. PMP designation is a nice to have.
  • 5 years’ experience in project management, scrum.
  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master or Project Manager in a product development setting.
  • Strong knowledge of Scrum theory, rules, and practices.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with Project Management methodologies and principles.
  • Knowledge of other Agile approaches and familiarity with health and safety would be a plus.

Details of the Role

Status: 12-month Contract, Full-time


Hours of Work: 37.5 hours/week


Location: Remote in Ontario, Canada
