Highline Beta is hiring a driven and experienced Product Manager to join our team. You’ll work on a variety of projects simultaneously, but initially your core focus will be a new startup that we’re building. This is a B2C startup, building a mobile app focused on the loneliness epidemic. It’s in the earliest stages of development, so you’ll be working on this from the ground up.

Other projects may include B2B startups and consulting engagements for our corporate partners. Please visit our website to get a sense of the work we do. The variety is significant, which means you’ll need a broad set of skills, a ton of curiosity, and a willingness to quickly learn new things, business models and more. Versatility is key.

We’re seeking someone with a builder mentality, not a project manager. If you’re ready to get your hands dirty and create something from nothing, we’re interested in talking.

You will report to Paige Halam-Andres, our Managing Director, Innovation, and work very closely with Founding Partner, Ben Yoskovitz.

Responsibilities

Building the B2C Startup: Your primary responsibility will be shepherding our new B2C startup in the loneliness space to launch. Our goal is to launch in early 2025. Initial designs, brand and product scope are done (although there will be iteration). You’ll be a key leader and contributor on this engagement alongside Founding Partner, Ben Yoskovitz. Your responsibilities will include: defining product scope, validating and testing with early users/adopters, coordinating with the development team & design, collaborating with the CEO and additional partners on the project, project managing the entire process.
Working on Multiple Projects: You’ll be working on multiple projects simultaneously, which you have to enjoy and get energy from. Projects will vary a great deal. Some will be more traditional corporate consulting engagements, some will be scrappy startup projects. You have to enjoy both.
Product Development: Support the work we do for corporate partners and startups through our venture studio model. Product development starts with the earliest stages of customer discovery and validation (i.e. doing research, interviewing users, etc.) and goes into building & launching MVPs. You need to be adept at all stages of this process, and excited to spend most of your time in the 0 to 1 phase.
Prototyping and Writing: You’re an exceptional writer with an extreme focus on getting the details right. You communicate effectively through writing and prototyping (i.e. wireframes, sketches, etc.)
Technical Know-how: You’re not a coder, but you’re comfortable with no code tools and hacking things together (i.e. prototypes, POCs, etc.) You understand how technical software products are built, which means you can communicate seamlessly with developers.

What you’ll need

Qualifications

General Experience: 3-5+ years of experience in product management, with specific experience building consumer mobile applications; you must be able to show precisely what work you were responsible for.
Startup Experience: You’ve built at least 1 startup from 0 to 1, involved in the initial customer research, validating the problem, building the MVP and getting it to launch.
Corporate Experience: You’re comfortable with and excited about the possibility of working with corporate partners. These projects are often more consultative in nature than working exclusively within a startup.
Builder’s Mindset: Proven ability to take products from concept to launch.
Detail-Oriented: Excellent writing skills with meticulous attention to detail.
Multitasking: Ability to juggle multiple projects and shift contexts seamlessly.
Approach: Grit & perseverance, with an openness to making mistakes, iterating and learning constantly. You believe “no job is too small.” We’re looking for a doer, not a manager. This role does not have any direct reports–please do not apply if you’re more interested in managing people than building products.
